While there may be more famous spots in the world for rock climbing, the lime karsts in Vang Vieng appeal to many beginner and more experienced climbers.
A great course to introduce anyone to rock climbing. The routes used are suitable for both beginners and intermediate levels, and the tour guides are highly experienced and respected in Vang Vieng.
This is a perfect chance to experience rock climbing in a new setting and enjoy the beautiful Vang Vieng scenery.
You will be taken 15 minutes outside of Vang Vieng to the Sleeping Wall. Here, close to the Nam Song river, are more than 31 climbing routes for beginners and more experienced climbers alike. Transport is provided, although there is a short trek from the road to the climbing site.
You will learn about climbing equipment, safety procedures, belaying techniques and devices, how to make proper climbing knots, and full instruction and guidance. Expect to learn about top-rope climbing and belaying.
Everyone will enjoy a warm up climb to get started. Then you can expect to take on up to 5 more which will become slightly more challenging with each climb. In total, you will usually be able to complete between 4 and 6 climbs of grades 5a, 5b, 5c, 6a, 6b.
This tour runs twice a day during the high season and once a day in the morning during the low season. Please check with us if you require an afternoon booking.
The tours start at 9am and 1pm and they finish at 12.30 and 4pm.
You must be outside the BCEL bank in the centre of town before this time to be picked up for the tour. You can find BCEL bank on Google Maps. And when your booking is confirmed you will be sent full details.
