To really see the true beauty of Vang Vieng means taking to the skies. There are two ways to do this; by hot air ballon, or paramotor.
Taking a paramotor flight means enjoying the incredible scenery of Vang Vieng along with a burst of adrenaline and excitement.
You will be picked up from your hotel at your chosen time. Then once you are at the launch site you will be given necessary instruction and safety equipment.
Now, you are ready to go up in the air and fly over the limestone karsts, the Nam Song river, and across the Vang Vieng countryside.
Don't forget to bring a device to film your experience, although our regular operator will provide footage from a GoPro camera after the flight ends. Once the flight is over you will receive a certificate to help you commemorate your moment in the skies.
Typically, paramotor flights last for about 15 minutes. And, they can be taken throughout the day. A popular time for many is sunset. So, if you wish to see the sun going down over Vang Vieng then try to book your paramotor flight ahead.
The operator is licensed by Lao Civil Aviation Authority. All pilots are certified and licensed. And, the pilots speak English, Thai, Lao, and Chinese.
As with all the tours sold on Discover Vang Vieng, safety comes first. If the weather is not permitting, the flight will either be rearranged to suit you, or you will be given a refund. Flights will not happen unless the weather is suitable and safe.
The flight itself is approximately 15 minutes. There is also a short time for transporting to and from your hotel, plus instruction and wrapping up at the end for photos and your certificate.
Our main operator flies at sunrise and sunset. Times change during the year as the seasons change.
